“Montecarlo-Montferrant Tourist Posters”
From the Artistic Legacy of the 1920s to the Digital Era

June 2023

Final Project for the Bachelor’s Degree in ‘Digital Design and Creation’ at the ‘Universitat Oberta de Catalunya’. This project consists of a curatorial endeavor based on a temporary exhibition featuring 20 advertising posters showcasing various tourist destinations along the French Mediterranean coast and the Catalan Costa Brava. The central theme of the displayed posters revolves around the design and graphic style of different avant-garde techniques from the years 1920-1932.

The exhibition comprises two thematic sections. On one hand, there are 18 printed posters created by various artists from the 1920s, and on the other hand, there are 2 digital posters from the municipality of Blanes (Girona). These posters are designed by the project author, who inspired his drawings into the French poster art. A reversible 64-page catalog is designed in both Catalan and French as a complement to the exhibition.

The main goal of the project was to highlight the poster as a valuable medium for conveying cultural and advertising information at the street level.
