Begues Annual Town Festival 2026

Graphic design proposal submitted to the poster competition for the 2026 Begues Annual Town Festival, organised by Begues Town Council (Barcelona).

The illustration captures the vibrant atmosphere of a traditional festive parade, featuring the giants Tòfol and Eulàlia as the central figures, accompanied by some of the iconic capgrossos (traditional big-headed figures) that form part of the town’s festive heritage.

The composition revolves around these characters and one of Begues’ most distinctive architectural landmarks: the former Cal Torras building, now home to the Town Hall, whose Modernist façade lends a strong sense of identity and local heritage to the scene.

Through a geometric visual language, simplified shapes and a warm, vibrant colour palette, the poster reinterprets local traditions from a contemporary graphic design perspective. Terracotta, ochre and green tones, combined with expressive typography, create a dynamic composition that conveys celebration, community spirit and a sense of belonging.

A design proposal that celebrates popular culture and local heritage through colour, geometry and illustration.
